MCS Group's Joseph Miranda and J. Bernhard Compton were both invited to be distinguished guest speakers at the annual Air Force Connections and 2008 Defense Modeling & Simulation Conference, being held in Orlando Florida during the week of March 10th.
Mr. Miranda will be speaking on current trends in wargaming while Mr. Compton presents recent research on deterrence modeling and how to utilize said research in wargame development.

States of Conflict is the second Campaign Study from Against the Odds Magazine, exploring the immediate and long term future of the Middle East.
This package includes a 56 page booklet with every article focused on the history behind (and yet to come of) the game. There's over 40,000 words of text, adorned with situation maps, tables and Order of Battle diagrams by top writers and designers on contemporary warfare.
The game inside is scaled at 10k per hex (linear side to side, approximately 65 square kilometers per hex). Units are brigades or divisions (the maneuver element of the given combatant). The design will use a modified version of the Advanced Millennium Wars system by Joseph Miranda, Michael Anderson, and J. Bernhard Compton, incorporating subsystems for asymmetric situations, non-state actors, and political constraints.
